OCEAN & EARTH SUMMER SESSIONS

ACT Wakeboard was proud to present the Ocean & Earth Summer Sessions, which was held last Saturday on the Molonglo River, Canberra. It was a great day for ACT Wakeboard and all of its members with 25 riders taking part in the day’s activities. Riders from regional NSW and Sydney mixed it with the local Canberra crew to transform the sleepy Molonglo into a Wakeboard Haven.
It was a great place to be on the riverbank watching some wakeboarding, splashing in the water, sipping some Buzz Monkey Energy Drink with smell of the BBQ in the background. The riding was of a high standard in all 3 divisions, Women’s, Men’s and Opens.
Results in the Open Ocean & Earth Summer Sessions checked to be the evergreen Liquid Malisha Superstar Ben Tolson on top, with James Tyrrell 2nd and local lad Jobe Rech rounding out the top 3. It was a tight final with Ben being last off the dock and pulling out the big guns to topple the field. Other divisions were hotly contested and results were in the Men’s: 1st Justin McMahon, 2nd Tim Clements, and 3rd Brendan O’Neill. Women’s results were: 1st Kat Imrie, 2nd Amy Guy and 3rd Tyne Gough.
Again it was a great experience for all riders to hone their competition skills for the upcoming busy season of wakeboarding in the nation’s capital The next competition will be Day 2 of the Ocean & Earth Summer Sessions held on Saturday the 28th of November.
Thanks to all the volunteers for helping throughout the day, from the cooks to the boat drivers, everyone did a great job and made the day a success for ACT Wakeboard.
